| On the cover of the New York Times, one of the most popular newspapers in America, is the news of the first atomic bomb being dropped over Hiroshima. The description of "Truman Warns For of a 'Rain of Ruin'" shows how dedicated President Truman was to not being the "bad guy" and proves that he is at least convincing in the fact that he dropped the bomb in order to save American lives, ultimately. |
Although this video is from only recently, the images in it give the viewer a great view in color about how the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was made, and that the US was more justified in dropping this bomb becuase as the video states, we had tested it and we had seen what major destruction was possible.
These are photos of the catastrophic damage that was caused by the atomic bomb in order to stop the war and to show the United States' power.

| This poster was used as propoganda in the United States in order to justify the dropping of the atomic bombs. As you can see, the power harnessed in the atomic bomb is made to relate back to the United States' blessing from God, making it 'ok' to drop them for the lives of the troops and to end the war in God's name. This speech made by President Truman was broadcast from a boat he was on. This video is of him announcing the dropping of the atomic bomb over Hiroshima. He explains why Americans should be very proud of their country, soliders, and scientists for making such a great achievement. Instead of putting the bomb in a bad light, he talks about how useful it is and how it will help the US win the war.
